Once you become one of the millions of Twitter users you’ll quickly discover that it’s a great feeling to have followers. Twitter followers can mean many things, not the least of which is that you have a group of people to whom you might be able to market to. So what ways are there to grow your Twitter followers?
The first thing you need to have top of mind is having concern for your followers. Don’t just blast out tweet after tweet of all the affiliate products you can find! You need to talk to your followers, thank them, engage them, follow them back and give them some great resources and information! Ask yourself what you would want to hear about from you and you’ll be a lot closer to giving your followers a good experience with your tweets.
You can add a bio to your Twitter page and that is one of the most important things. This gives your followers and ‘potential’ followers a way of finding out more about you. Use the bio page wisely and if you’re not sure what that means then just check out other people’s and take the best from each and create your own version of the same type of information.
As a minimum talk about the markets/businesses you’re in and a little personal information such as your favorite football team and hobby. Someone who enjoys the same hobby as you is likely to follow you!
When you set up your Twitter account you will be assigned a basic Twitter avatar. You need to personalise that as soon as possilble. You’ll quickly find yourself that to scroll through hundreds of tweets at a time is difficult but one of the easiest ways to stop peoople bypassing you is to have a good clear image of you and to provide valuable information in your tweets. If you have those two things covered off then you’re more likely to jog the memory of your followers that they should be stopping by your tweets instead of just keeping on scrolling.
Gathering and managing Twitter followers is a big topic of which I’ve only covered a few basics in this post. Set up your Twitter bio today and upload a clear image of yourself if you are comfortable with that and then go and introduce yourself to the Twitter world.
